Flag Burning Ceremony
On Thursday, October 12, at 6 p.m., there will be a flag burning ceremony on Memorial Park with Troop No 35 performing this very solemn event. If you have flags that you wish to be burned, bring them to the Township Office at 20 Leather Street and they will be properly disposed of during the ceremony.
Clarendon Coat Closet on Saturday, October 14
This is the 6th year for the Clarendon United Methodist Church providing winter coats to the children in the Sheffield attendance area. We all need a bit of help on occasion, and providing a coat during these times is our ministry’s way of helping. Coats will be distributed in our fellowship hall on Saturday October 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone with questions may call the church office at (814) 723-5435 and leave a message along with your name and phone number.
Trick or Treat hours for Sheffield Township
Sheffield Township Supervisors have set the trick or treat hours to be 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31st. Trunk or Treat will be offered to those citizens who are wishing to participate at the Sheffield Container parking lot on Horton Avenue.

Clarendon Trinity UMC Fall Rummage Sale
Friday, October 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, October 7, from 9 a.m. to noon, is the Clarendon Trinity UMC Fall Rummage Sale.
Sheffield Township Tax Collection
The 2017 tax bills have been mailed out. 2017 tax collection hours will again be held in the Sheffield Township Library located at 20 Leather Street. This year’s hours are as follows: September 20, 25, 27 from 6-8 p.m.; September 23 from 9 a.m.-noon; September 29 from 3-5 p.m.
Payments in person will only be accepted at the library during the hours listed above and only by the tax collector. Payments not received during office hours may be mailed to:

If you are paying in person, please be sure to get a stamped receipt at the time of your payment. As stated on your tax bills, if a receipt is desired at a later time, please mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to the payment address listed above. Receipts will not be granted via phone calls or by stopping by home.
Sheffield Hospitality Center
The Johnny Appleseed Festival is from Oct. 13-15. While you are making your plans stop in to the Hospitality Center and have a cup of coffee and conversation. We will continue the ‘Take Back’ program for your unused, unwanted and expired drugs; we in turn take these to the Municipal building in Warren for proper disposal. We also save the bottles for missionary reuse, this is an undoing program.
We are filling our Thanksgiving Basket for our drawing, have gift cards or something to donate, please drop off before the raffle. Tickets are 3/$1 and remember there will again be a $50 bill in there.
The Sheffield Kitchen band will be playing for the residents of the Watson Home on Tuesday, Oct. 3, if you would like to join this lively group they would love to have you, just call 968-5667.
Our Advisory Council meeting is always the first Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m., if you have ideas or any suggestions we welcome all to voice them at this meeting.
Get donations of crafts completed now as we have a table at the Sheffield Auxiliary Craft & Bake Sale Saturday, Oct. 28, at the firehall.
