Gary Lester will be a guest speaker at noon on March 14 to talk about ‘Coping’ techniques. Lunch includes your choice of a beef burrito, fiesta corn, Spanish rice and pineapple or a chef salad.
A St Patty’s Day luncheon is slated for March 15 with entertainment by ‘The String of Pearls’. Lunch includes your choice of a roast turkey dinner, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables and fruit or a chef salad. Sign up soon!
The Easter luncheon is scheduled for March 22, featuring a ham dinner and all of the fixings or a chef salad.
Call 723-3237 to make your reservations. Lunches are a $3 donation for those over 60 years or older or $4 for those under 60. Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance.
A benefit Center Cut Roast Pork and Dressing Dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Russell United Methodist Church, 17 N. Main St. A minimum donation of $9 per dinner, which includes three sides, rolls, a beverage and dessert. East-in or take-out.
The Warren-Forest Counties Economic Opportunity Council has announced that a public meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at EOC, 1209 Pa. Ave. W., Warren, for the purpose of electing low-income representatives to EOC’s Board of Directors.
Warren Christian Women to meet
Warren Christian Women invites you to its “Wearing of the Green” luncheon on Tuesday, March 13 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark Street in Warren. The luncheon is $9 and includes Cindy Klomp, of Sugar Grove, with antique toys and dolls, speaker Jennifer Ebaugh of Evans City, with a presentation called “Running to Win,” and music by Ray Goetz of Warren. Warren County 4-H will host an Introduction to Horsemanship Skills on Thursday, March 29 for Warren County 4-H horse members. The program will be held at Serenity Equine Center, 5558 Follett Run Rd, Warren. Leaders, 4-H members, and parents are invited to attend the program beginning at 5 pm to learn more about the horsemanship skills program.
Equine Extension Associate, Lew Trumble, will work with 4-H members on demonstrating handling and riding skills as designated in the horsemanship skill program. The program design is a planned progression in handling and riding skills. 4-H members are evaluated and complete one level at a time with the focus based on safety and education, not competition.
Sign up is required for the March 29 program. Contact the Penn State Extension office in Warren County at 563-9388 to register. Deadline to sign up is March 26. The 4-H program is a youth development program of Penn State Cooperative Extension. It is open to all youth between the ages of 8 and 18, without regard to ancestry, color, disability or handicap, national origin, race, religious creed, sex, sexual orientation, or place of residence.
