2nd Harvest Produce Express

The 2nd Harvest Produce Express will be at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 258 Dalrymple St, Pittsfield, on Tuesday, March 6. Food pick-up will begin promptly at 3:30 p.m.

They will be serving 100 families on a first-come, first-serve basis. No pre-registration is required. Volunteer workers are to arrive by 2 p.m.

Vets hours

A Department Service Officer from The American Legion will be at Rep. Kathy Rap’s office, 404 Market St., Warren, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, to answer questions regarding VA and state benefits.

No appointment is necessary. Bring proof of veteran status.

Lenten services

The Warren Area Ministerial Association will sponsor services each Thursday during Lent at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street in Warren. Following each service a soup and pie luncheon will be available for the donation of $5. On Thursday, March 1, Rita Moniot from the Starbrick Family Church will share the message, and Buddy Ward from North Warren Presbyterian Church will be liturgist. First UM Church will provide the music, and St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church will serve the lunch.

Polka Sunday

The Slovenian Polka Boosters will meet to dance from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at St. Marys Moose, with Bobby Kavos, of Cleveland, Ohio, performing. There will be music for all types of dancing and the public is invited.

Halls of Ivy

Marilyn Zagora, vice president of academic affairs, and Eileen Goodling, vice president of student development at Jamestown Community College have announced the names of 165 students, including from Warren County, who were awarded degrees or certificates from the Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses in December 2017.

The highest honors designation represents a 4.0 grade point average, high honors a 3.50 to 3.99 GPA, and honors a 3.25 to 3.49 GPA.

Russell: Nicole Eckman (A.S.-Human Services Honors);

Sheffield: Brandy Rockwell (A.A.S.-Early Childhood Honors);

Warren: Chloe Meddaugh (A.A.S.-Medical Office Technology).
