Indivisible Warren

Indivisible Warren PA holds its bimonthly meeting this Thursday, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Emanuel United Church of Christ, 1710 PA Avenue East, Warren. Use the side entrance. If possible, bring canned goods or clean, delabeled prescription bottles as a donation to our gracious hosts.

Bridge results

Tuesday afternoon at the Allegheny Community Center, Diane Callahan placed first with Connie Michell in second. At the Woman’s Club Thursday afternoon, Marilyn Mourer and Mary Schorman were first and second. Susan Swab was first Thursday evening at the library with Donna Holding finishing second.

Results of Club championship game held Monday at YMCA were:

1st-Sally Steele and Matt Oram with 21.5;

2nd-Joann Hultquist and Connie Michell with 20.5;

3rd-Rita Mancuso and Laurie Curren with 19.

Polka Sunday

The Slovenian Polka Boosters will meet from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at Wildwoods, with Karl Lukitsch, of Pittsburgh, performing.

There will be music for all types of dancing and the public is invited. For information, call John and Pat Moore at 837-9218.

Lenten services

The Warren Area Ministerial Association will sponsor services each Thursday during Lent at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street in Warren. Following each service a soup and pie luncheon will be available for the donation of $5. On Thursday, February 22, Bill Beatty from Grace UM Church will bring the message, and Dorothy Hilliard from Faith Fellowship Church of God will be liturgist. Music will be provided by First Lutheran Church, and Grace UM will prepare the lunch.

Cabin Fever series

The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners will offer a children’s gardening program on March 17 from 1-3 p.m. in the Slater Room at the Warren Public Library. Master Gardeners Brookie LaVigne and Judy Kepple will provide a gardening workshop for children ages 5-10. Hands-on activities will include seed starting and learning about where food comes from. During the second hour the children will be able to create a fairy garden. The class size will be limited to 20 children. Wizards at WAEC

The Harlem Wizrds, “Tick Hoops & Alley Opps!,” will be playing the Warren Teachers at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Warren Area High School. Tickets are available online at www.harlemwizards.com, of at WAEC or WAHS.
