Library musical events
Warren Public Library will host several musical events this holiday season.
Each performance will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Wetmore Gallery amidst the library’s Sheet Music Cover Art exhibit.
The first performance will be by the Conewango Clippers on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
Chase Putman, presents an Evening of Jazz, on Thursday, Dec. 7.
The First Lutheran Bell Choir and harpist Ellen Paquette will both perform on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
Josh Haight on piano will be the Thursday, Dec. 14 performance.
Finally, Youth Connection will perform on Thursday, Dec. 21, in the library’s Slater Room.
Halls Of Ivy
Jamestown Business College has announced the President’s and Dean’s Lists for the Fall 2017 term. To qualify for the President’s List a student must earn a 3.90 – 4.00 grade point average for a term. To qualify for the Dean’s List a student must earn a 3.60 – 3.89 grade point average for a term. Students from the Warren area:

Vets day event
The annual Veterans Day dinner was held at the Sugar Grove American Legion Post 758. Serving veterans were members of the Eisenhower High School cheerleaders, Ashley Hall, Junior Auxiliary members Zoey Reynolds and Emma Sanders, and Girl Scout Troup 36680 members Ariana Oaks, Alissa Kranak and Abbie Darr.
Receiving her father’s award for continuous service was Karleen Thorpe Johnson. Her recently-deceased father, Marvin Thorpe, received an award for 70 years of continuous membership from Post 758 Adjutant Richard Morgan, sent from the Department of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Thorpe had recently attained 71 continuous years before he passed away.
