Focusing on the present helps you achieve mindfulness;

The Warren Dragon Instrumental Boosters will be hosting two fundraisers this fall to purchase band uniforms by Spring of 2018.
For many years, the Warren Instrumental Bands has offered fruit sold by band members. This year, both 20 and 40 pounds of navel oranges, grapefruit, or a mix of grapefruit and oranges are available. This is the first year the band is also selling mandarin oranges in 10 or 16 pound sizes. All fruit will be on sale until Nov. 15 with a delivery date of Dec. 1 and 2 at the Penelec building. This fundraiser benefits all of the instrumental programs at Warren Area High School and the community can see any student involved in any WAHS music programs (jazz band, orchestra, concert band, and marching band) to place an order. If you don’t know any students in the instrumental programs you can also phone in orders to our fundraising coordinator Shawn Young at (814) 730-3224 or Rayna Tucher, at (814) 688-8458.
The second fundraiser this year is the turkey party and gun raffle, which will be held Nov. 18 at Pleasant Valley VFD Social Hall at 6 p.m. Students in the Warren Dragon Marching Band are selling tickets for the event. The fundraiser will purchase new uniforms for the Marching Band. Our current uniforms are pushing more than 20 years old.
Tickets are on sale now for the turkey party and the community is welcome to purchase these tickets from any marching band student or by calling Shawn Young at (814) 730-3224.
Each ticket purchased will also gain admission to the event.
The turkey party is open to all age 18 or older with valid photo ID.
In addition to the fruit sales and the turkey party, the WAHS Instrumental Band Boosters are soliciting business sponsorships in order to complete the purchase of the uniforms for the marching band by Spring 2018.
By sponsoring, the WAHS Marching Dragons, local businesses not only support the arts within the Warren community, but they are providing a return on your investment by participating in this tax-deductible opportunity to promote their business. 2017 Business Sponsors include Betts Industries, Inscale Architects, Warren Pediatrics Associates, Dr. Valentine Randall, Dave Calvert and Associates, and Attorney Rob Hampson. As well as current fundraising efforts, the boosters have raised $15,000 towards a $50,000 goal.
For more information on joining our movement and becoming a business sponsor, contact WAHS Dragon Instrumental Boosters fundraising coordinator Shawn Young at (814) 730-3244 or email Sayoung1981@hotmail.com.
