The Slovenian Polka Boosters will be having their dance from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at Eagles at Ridgway, with the Skovenski Band, of Avonmore performing. There will be music for all types of dancing, and the public is invited.

The Salvation Army’s Annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, at St. Joseph Church.

“Holiday Treasure” Sale
The “Holiday Treasure” Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Sugar Grove United Methodist Church’s Education Building.There will be toys, decorations, food, gift items, crafts, baked goods and more. Back again this year is the “Kids’ Korner,” with nothing over $1. Shopping at the Kids’ Korner is limited to children, with free gift wrapping.
Sanata will also be available to talk with children.
On Sunday, Nov. 19, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike five miles on the trails at the Audubon Community Nature Center. Participants will meet at the kiosk in front of the Nature Center at 2 p.m. For more information, call John Young at (814) 730-2915.

Active Intruder, Emergency Planning for Houses of Worship
In today’s ever-changing world, we must be increasingly aware of our surroundings and situations. Times of worship are often a place of solace and peace in our hectic lives and should be able to remain so. The community is invited to join us at Emanuel UCC, 1710 Pennsylvania Ave., on November 30, 6 p.m., for an informational seminar regarding active intruder situations and other emergencies at houses of worship. Sgt. Brandon Deppen, City of Warren Police Dept., will be the key speaker for the evening’s program.
