Transplant Support Group

Close to the Heart Transplant Support Group will celebrate the holidays together on Tuesday, Nov.14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Eagles Club. We support not only transplant recipients, but those who have been told that they may in the future need an organ or tissue transplant, those on the waiting list, families who have lost a loved one after (or before they were able have) transplant and most importantly, the precious donor families. Call Debbie for more information at (814) 726-1499.

Project Experience

The Warren Alliance Church invites the community to Project Experience this Friday, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Project Experience is a 30-minute interactive experience for all ages. Participants are guided through interactive stations that highlight the challenges many people in the world face each day.

Project Experience is a tool to help groups process the brokenness they see in the world and move towards a posture of hope. Warren Alliance Church is located at 278 Kinzua Rd. For more information go to warrenalliance.org.

Trails remain closed

In May 2017, a wind storm impacted nearly 1,500 acres on the Allegheny National Forest’s Marienville Ranger District. Some of the most extensive damage occurred in the Brush Hollow area, which impacted the hiking and cross-country skiing trails. Because of the extensive damage, the potential commercial value of the timber involved, and the challenges associated with regenerating new forest stands, the Brush Hollow and Mill Creek Trails will remain closed for the foreseeable future, and possibly through the 2018 calendar year.

The Allegheny National Forest will soon propose to conduct an environmental assessment to address the removal of blown down timber in and around the Brush Hollow area, reforestation of those acres, and restoration of the Brush Hollow and Mill Creek Trails.

For more information, contact the Marienville Ranger District at (814) 927-6628.
