Sugar Grove VFD bingo

Sugar Grove VFD will hold Bingo Sunday, Oct. 8. Doors open at 4 p.m. Penny Bingo begins at 4:30 p.m., and regular games begin at 6 p.m. Cost is $25 all you can play up to four books. Pull tabs available and kitchen open.

WGH Gala tickets

Tickets for the 2017 Warren General Hospital Auxiliary Gala “Dance the Night Away at the Club” are available now at WGH Window Box Gift Shop and at Crone’s Drug Store or by calling Deb Gray at 723-4973, ext.1835. Advance tickets are $40 per person. Tickets purchased at the door are $45 per person. Class lunch

The Warren High School class of 1949 will meet for lunch at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Bob Evans Restaurant.

Ladies who grew up in Warren’s West End come for breakfast on Monday, Oct. 9 at 9 a.m. at Perkins.

Dining with Diabetes

Penn State Extension will be offering a Dining with Diabetes Class in October. The class will be held at Warren General Hospital, 2 West Crescent Park, Warren. The class will meet four consecutive Fridays: October 20, 27, November 3, and November 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. A follow-up class will be given in December.

Dining with Diabetes is a program for adults with diabetes/pre diabetes and their families. Classes are offered weekly for four weeks with a two month follow up class. Pre registration is required due to space limitations. Cost of the program is $5 per participant.

Participants will learn how to prepare meals that are healthy, simple, and taste good (including holiday recipes). Recipes will be demonstrated and participants will have the opportunity to sample the recipe. Participants will also learn up to date information on nutrition, meal planning and exercise as well as how to understand common, diabetes-related medical tests. Recipe booklet and handouts will be given at each class.
