Currently 21 teams have registered, with nearly 100 walkers, for the Warren Walk on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Betts Park.

Several new local corporate sponsors have joined, with the committee well on its way to meeting its monetary goal of $45,500 with 35 percent pledged by those walking.

Team members collecting $100 will receive the official Walk t-shirt. For higher dollar amounts collected, a variety of other incentives are being offered, from drawstring bags and water bottles to lounge chairs and more, at the various levels; $500 and $1000 donations collected by individual walkers will earn champions’ medals. These donations by team members may be turned in at the registration table on Walk Day, with eligible walkers receiving their t-shirts and other awards at that time or at “Bank Day,” which will be Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Betts Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the pavilion across from the bocce courts. Logistics of the Walk and volunteer assignments will be finalized that day. Those attending may bring a bag lunch and beverage, if desired.

There is still plenty of time to form a team, sign up as an individual, or to join an existing team. More teams are needed as well as volunteers for the day of the Walk. Go to www.alz.org/walk.

Registration on Walk day begins at 9 a.m., with the Promise Garden Ceremony at 9:30 a.m., and the Walk officially stepping off at 10 a.m..

There will be refreshments, door prizes, DJ, awards presented, and team photos will be taken.
