Farmers’ Market Nutrition vouchers are available again this year at Allegheny Community Center. Those with last names starting with N – Z can pick up their vouchers at ACC on Thursday, June 22nd at 9 a.m. Your eligible gross incomes to receive vouchers must be less than $20,665 for an individual or less than $27,991 for a couple. An Eligibility & Proxy form can be obtained at ACC which must be completed and signed in advance by a receiver who is unable to pick up the voucher in person. A Chronic Disease Management program is being offered at the ACC starting Wednesday, June 14th. If you’re tired of being tired, anxious or in pain or are unsure how to handle an ongoing health condition, this class is for you. You can join this Knowledge is Power workshop, developed at Stanford University, and discover a new way to live better & healthier. There is no charge to attend! Classes are held at the ACC every Wednesday through July 19th from 1:00-3:30 p.m. This program is presented by LifeWorks Erie. To register for this informative program, you can call 723-4180 or sign up at the reception desk at ACC.

The 17th Annual Experience, Inc. Golf Scramble Tournament is June 19th at Blueberry Hill Golf Club. Registration starts at 10 a.m. with a shot gun start at 12 noon. Entry fee for a four-person divisional team scramble is $240. There’s a free lunch available, BBQ chicken dinner and lots of great prizes!!! Proceeds benefit nutrition programs for seniors in Warren & Forest counties. Plus, raffle tickets to win a stay at the Hampton Inn and play a round of golf at Blueberry Hill and Cable Hollow Golf courses (donated by local businesses) will be available. Better hurry!

Remember to call ACC at 723-4180 by 11:00 a.m. 2 DAYS IN ADVANCE to make your noon lunch reservations. A monthly meal calendar can be picked up at the center and meals can be reserved well in advance, just not less than 2 days in advance. The suggested reserved-meal donation for all those 60 and over is $3. All meals are well balanced and planned to provide maximum nutritional benefits.

ACC is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ACC is closed on legal holidays and on those days when Warren County schools are closed unexpectedly due to bad weather.
