Results of Monday night duplicate bridge at YMCA were:

1st–Laurie Curren and Carol Stone with 44.5;

2nd–Gerry Africa and Emily Birgel with 43.5;

3rd–Ellen Ruffolo and Jill Dart with 40.5.

Children’s fishing contest

The Annual Jeff Burns Memorial Children’s Fishing Contest, sponsored by the Farnsworth Trout Club in Clarendon, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at Farnsworth Hatchery Site. The contest is for ages one through 15, and everyone is welcome. Prizes and pop will be provided.

Cognition screening

Cognition Screening – At the Allegheny Community Center on Thursday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to noon in room 211. Screening will be by Megan Sivac from Kinzua Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Warren Writers Group

Calling all writers! Do you have a story yearning to be written and published? Are you looking for a group of like-minded individuals on the journey of writing? If so, you’re invited to join the Warren Writers Group at the Warren Public Library on Thursday, May 11. This group meets the second Thursday of each month, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Learn the many aspects of the writing craft: story structure, plotting, dialog, character development, genres, Show vs. Tell, and much more.

For those interested in self-publishing, we will also cover how to find an editor, book cover artist, marketing, and building an Author Platform.

PARSE meets

The Barton-Schuler Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees will meet at Perkins Restaurant on Ludlow Street in Warren on Thursday, May 11, at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will follow as our meeting is completed. The Youngsville Class of 1961 will meet for its monthly breakfast get-together on Wednesday, May 10, at 9 a.m. at Richards Restaurant in Youngsville. Guests are always welcome.

The next monthly meeting of the Warren County Republican Committee will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at the Republican HQ at Third and Conewango Aves.
