ReStore donations

Habitat for Humanity of Warren County’s ReStore is operating from the basement of Second Avenue Exchange, located at 306 Second Avenue in Warren. Habitat will accept donations at that location only on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. The next dropoff dates are June 10 and 24 (note no dropoff on May 27 due to Memorial Day holiday). Do not leave items outside of those hours. Habitat reserves the right to deny any item based on its potential resale value and / or usefulness to the organization. Senior center closings

Experience, Inc.. the local Area Agency on Aging, and all of the senior centers in Warren and Forest counties will be closed on Monday, May 29, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

Bridge results

Tuesday afternoon at the Allegheny Community Center, Marjorie Polito came in first and Donna Hickey was second. At the Woman’s Club Thursday afternoon, Peggy Morgan and Laurie Curren were first and second. Rosemary Hanson and Donna Hickey were first and second Thursday evening at the library.

Outdoor Club events

On Wednesday, May 24, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will travel to Gettysburg to begin four days of bike riding on the Gettysburg National Military Park. Participants will be camping out at the Gettysburg Battlefield KOA at 20 Knox Road, Gettysburg. Phone: (800) 562-1869 or (717) 642-5713. Mention you are with the AOC in order to camp together. On Sunday, May 28, the AOC will stage a Memorial Day Weekend Float on the Allegheny Reservoir. Participants will launch at Webb’s Ferry at 1:30 p.m. After the float we will meet at the Red Oaks Campground at Debra Young’s campsite for a cookout. Hot dogs and buns will be provided. On Wednesday, May 31, the AOC will ride bikes from the village of Van on Sandy Creek and the Allegheny Trails to Franklin. Participants will meet at the Sheetz Gas Station in Cranberry at the intersection of Rte. 322 and Rte. 257. at 10 a.m. This will be a shuttle ride. Red Hat meeting

The Red Hat Society Purple Majesties will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at the Eagles Club. “Bring your nickels. We’re going to play.”
