DUI. At 5:04 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, Warren-based state police were dispatched to Cobham Park Rd. and Scandia Rd. for a report of an intoxicated male asleep in the driver’s seat of his car which was stopped in the driver’s lane. Upon police arrival, a male driver was allegedly found asleep in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running and still in drive. The officer reportedly put the 2014 Hyundai Accent in park, shut off the vehicle, and removed the key. The officer then conducted field sobriety tests and observed alleged signs of impairment. Scott Simmons, 42, of Warren, was arrested for suspicion of DUI and processed at Pennsylvania State Police in Warren. Charges of DUI and several summary traffic violations were filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.
Criminal Mischief. Between Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, a Jackson Ave. mailbox was struck by an unknown blunt object. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police in Warren or Warren County Crime Stoppers. An investigation is pending.
DUI/Underage Consumption. At 3:06 a.m. Saturday, June 8, a 2006 Nissan Altima being driven by an 18-year-old male, of Sheffield, was stopped for an equipment violation by Warren-based state police. The arrestee was discovered to be allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DUI and underage consumption of alcohol. He was not identified by police.
Endangering the Welfare of a Child. On Friday, June 7, at 9:11 p.m., a four-year-old child was allegedly left on the back of a school van in Fowler Brook. A 78-year-old female, of Eldred, has been arrested.
The investigation is ongoing.
