Warren Players announces cast of upcoming ‘Bugsy Malone, Jr.’
Warren Players has announced the cast of its upcoming Jack In The Box production of “Bugsy Malone, Jr.,” the final show of its 88th season. The production will be staged July 25, 26 and 27 at 7 p.m., and July 28 at 2 p.m. at the historic Struthers Library Theatre.
Directed by Jennifer Bailey, “Bugsy” is a tongue-in-cheek musical tribute to the gangster films of the 1920s. Two gangs comprised completely of children, square off in a 1920s rivalry of Capone-ian standards. Based on the hit 1976 film, Bugsy Malone, this pint-sized, pinstriped classic is good, clean, comedic fun! Dandy Dan’s gang has gotten the upper hand since acquiring the “splurge” gun – a weapon that shoots whipped cream. Bugsy Malone, a one-time boxer, is thrust into the limelight when he becomes the last chance Fat Sam’s gang has of surviving. All Bugsy really wants to do is spend time with his new love, Blousey… but that just isn’t in the cards for our hero.
The show will feature Ethan Monroe as Bugsy, Elissa Errett as Blousey, Colin Drayer as Fat Sam, Derek Hahn as Dandy Dan, Logan Johnson as Fizzy, Jadenne Fofana as Tallulah, and Abigail Wilson as Lena. Ensemble/Speakeasy Customers are Ivy Moore, Chevelle Yeskey (Marbini The Magician), Maxwell Smith, Chalina Abreu (Opera Singer), Sammy White (Ventriloquist), Emma Kisselbach (Trumpet Player on Skates), and Morgan Alexander.
