Like Fashion? Curious about fashions of days gone by? If you answered “YES,” then we want to see you at LET’S GO RETRO, the Woman’s Club of Warren’s 2019 Spring Fashion Show–at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at 310 Market Street in Warren.

This event is open to the public though seating is limited. The evening will begin with FASHIONS FROM THE PAST: Everything from Twiggy attire to Coco Chanel, from poodle skirts and saddle shoes to miniskirts and go-go boots. How about tie-dye of the 70s, or Flappers of the 20s. Perhaps someone will honor the 100-year anniversary of the 19th amendment, giving women the right to vote, by wearing clothing that Susan B Anthony might have worn? Feel free to come dressed in fashions from your favorite style, era or designer.

Let’s not forget the men in our lives. Wearing period attire would be delightful accompanying their favorite gal. There is a prize for the audience’s favorite LET’S GO RETRO entry.

There will be new fashions courtesy of GG My Love, by Cheri Greenstein, from her Chautauqua boutique. Visitors will be dazzled with the newest fashion trends and, for those of you who have visited Cheri’s store on the grounds of Chautauqua, you know that you are in for an exciting evening of stunning fashions and accessories suitable for all ages.

Just to let you in on a little secret, Cheri says a special discount coupon will be given to all attendees. Cheri is also providing two $25 gift certificates and two items from her boutique as door prizes which everyone has a chance to win.

A social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy the beautiful space of the Woman’s Club and our themed table decor of past eras. Or browse GG My Love’s fashions, where selected items will be for sale on site. You can count on fabulous raffle items to catch your eye, from Virg-Ann Flower Shop, Touch of Tranquility Spa in North Warren, Chiodo’s Restaurant, and Ekey Florist and Greenhouse.

The menu will be a buffet of heavy hors d’ oeuvres and finger foods. This will allow for a more casual atmosphere with the focus on the evening’s events.

The cost will be a donation of $30 pre-paid.

Group seating will be accommodated, so gather up your friends and GO RETRO.

Send in your reservations to Anne Higgins, club manager, at 310 Market Street (723-5910) by May 2, or buy tickets from Ekey Florist, Virg-Ann Flower Shop or any club member.

This event is a fundraiser to help maintain the historic Water’s Mansion which is listed on the National Historic Registry. For those who have not been in this building, tours and information regarding rental for a special event are by appointment. Membership information will also be available during the special promotion.
