Ruff Riders host Stable Wellness
The Sugar Grove Ruff Riders 4H Club met on Feb. 5 at Sugar Grove Mission Covenant Church.
The group discussed the new program being offered through 4H about recreational riding and to keep track of your hours spent with your horse. This program will honor members with awards as they complete different achievements for riding.
The club discussed the Kiwanis presentations coming up on March 9 in Warren. The group also discussed the new award being offered for the clover buds at achievement night.
They then had a guest speaker arrive — Dr. Sandra Harvey; her business is Stable Wellness. She educated us on the importance of proper nutrition for our horses. Katie Downs brought the snack for the evening. After the guest speaker, leader Kelly discussed the importance of a properly-fitting helmet and members had the opportunity to put on their helmets that they brought and have it properly adjusted.
The next meeting will be held at 6 to 8 p.m. March 5 at Sugar Grove Mission Covenant Church.
