PennDOT Connects

PennDOT Connects is improving communities and transportation systems through collaboration with PennDOT, regional planning organizations and municipalities. Your role in your municipality is valuable to the planning process for projects because you know what works for your community, but what else should you know about the planning process?

That is why we invite you to join us for the course, Planning and Engineering 360∂, to interact with PennDOT and regional planning staff about the specific collaboration opportunities and the partnership overall.

The course will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Youngsville Borough Municipal Building, 40 Rail Road Street, Youngsville. This workshop will explain the PennDOT Connects policy, how it is being implemented, and how communities benefit and engage in the process. You will have a better understanding of the following:

Your role and responsibilities as a municipality, including being a “conduit” to other community stakeholders;

Photos submitted to Times Observer Courtney Salapek of Peace, Love & Wellness Integrative Health LLC, spoke to Warren Rotary recently, describing their infrared sauna, massage services, and interactive wellness workshops.

The value of planning in relation to PennDOT Connects and broader benefits;

The various opportunities for collaboration with PennDOT and the Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO)/Rural Planning Organizations (RPO) through every phase of planning and project delivery;

How you and PennDOT/MPOs/RPOs can partner to help ensure that transportation projects are developed in consideration of local priorities.
