Warren Players has announced the opening performances of its 88th season with Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “South Pacific.”

In this classic award-winning musical, the world is at war. On an island in the South Pacific, emotions run high as a midwestern nurse and a young lieutenant each navigate the treacherous waters of unfamiliar cultures and new romances.

A winner of 10 Tony Awards and the 1950 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “South Pacific” offers delightful cast of characters and unforgettable songs performed with a live orchestra, including “Some Enchanted Evening,” “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair,” and “Younger Than Springtime.”

At the helm of “South Pacific” is veteran director Lynn Sears, with production management by Krista Fitzsimmons, music direction by Fran Leto, vocal direction by Kathy Bowley, choreography by Haeli Augenstein and stage managed by Jennifer Hoffman.

“I’m in love with a wonderful cast,” said Sears, in a phrase inspired by another song from the show.

“The fabulous cast of South Pacific boasts seasoned veterans as well as those appearing on stage for the very first time,” Sears said. “The diversity of backgrounds, ages, personalities and levels of experience is what makes community theater so great. We all learn from one another and have an awful lot of fun in the process. I am extremely proud to be working with this dedicated team.”

The cast of “South Pacific” features Caitlin Webster as Nellie Forbush; Corey Bailey as Emile de Becque; Andrew Stalder as Lt. Joseph Cable; Megan VanOrd as Bloody Mary; Marylin Shene as Liat; Carly and Ryan Fitzsimmons as Ngana and Jerome; Tristan Brumagin as Henry; Gary Brumagin as Capt. Brackett; Jeff Ewing as Cmdr. Harbison; Michael Stenberg as Luther Billis; Dave Oberg as Stewpot; and Derek Hahn as the Professor.

Rounding out the cast, in alphabetical order, are Angela Abreu, Kelsey Angove, Colette Bonavita, Colin Drayer, Kari Ewing, Jadenne Fofana, Cyndy Granger, Jean Gomory, Hanna Hoffman, Adrianne Hunt, Logan Johnson, Adam McChesney, Nick Norrod, Robin Reed, Anne Schwanke, Kimberly Watson, Kaden Weber, Abigail Wilson, and Amanda Wolf.
