Doctors recommend that seniors 50 and older have these tests done twice yearly. It is also important that the tests be sent to your primary physician.

WGH will report the testing results to you and, if requested, directly to your physician as well.

Although online and telephone registration has closed, Harvey Stone, Chairman of the Rotary Blood Screening, told the Times Observer that walk-ins are welcome and there is usually very little waiting before the testing can be completed.

It is important to remember to fast 12 hours before the test (black coffee and water are okay, but no food or sweets should be consumed before the testing).
