Youngsville senior receives full scholarship at The Rock

Lauryn Harshaw, a senior at Youngsville High School, was selected to receive a Board of Governors Scholarship for her undergraduate studies at Slippery Rock University this fall. The Board of Governors Scholarship is a renewable scholarship that represents full tuition and is one of the largest scholarships offered at Slippery Rock. It was created to serve the needs and best interest of the university with regard to cultural diversity, academics, leadership, performing arts and designated high need majors.

Lauryn is a member of the National Honor Society, yearbook staff and served as drum major for the “international award-winning” Youngsville Marching Eagles in the 2017-18 marching season.

Lauryn is the daughter of Lyn Stoddard and Ashley Harshaw. She has four younger siblings, Bruce, McKaylin, and twin sisters Leah and Alayna.

Lauryn has worked very hard all through her high school years and will continue her education to focus on a Psychology degree. She hopes to become an educational advisor at a university.
