Photo submitted for publication Madalynn Perry and Hannah Chase have planned a Formal Dance for 7th and 8th grade students. The “Summer Night Lights” dance will be held at the Warren Area Student Union, 330 Hickory Street on Friday, June 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. DJ, Pitch Black, will be providing the music and lights. The admission price is $5. Refreshments and snacks will be available. All proceeds will benefit WASU student fund.

Meetings set

The Hill & Dale Garden Club May meeting will be Wednesday, May 23rd. It will be a field trip to the Clymer Dutch Village and Troyer’s Greenhouse. Please be at the Sugar Grove Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. to carpool from there to Clymer. We will meet at the Clymer Dutch Village at 11:15 for lunch and meeting. Then we will go to the Greenhouse for a demonstration on how to plant a container.

The May meeting of the Caregivers’ Support Group will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, May 21st at the Grace United Methodist Church, Wesley Parlor, 501 PA Ave. E., Warren. The Support Group meetings are open to any caregivers in the area, as well as those interested in learning more about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, and programs/services offered locally. A time for sharing of concerns will be included. In addition, at this meeting we will begin the 4part video series from The Alzheimer’s Project by HBO entitled “Memory Loss Tapes.” The first DVD covers the experience of memory loss from the point of view of the person with the disease, depicting what it is like to slowly lose one’s mind. Those attending Monday’s Support Group are asked to enter the church building via the elevator entrance from the church parking lot. Bring a bag lunch and beverage, if desired.
