This Saturday, March 17, the Warren Concert Association will host The Bards at Warren’s First Presbyterian Church, Market Street at Third Avenue, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

A trio of three professional musicians, The Bards roster includes Brian Walnicki, who was introduced to members of the Concert Association with his spell binding performance with the Warren Philharmonic last year. Brian is a master of the viola, mandolin, and octave mandolin. As a member of the Bards, he is joined by Inga Yanoski on violin and vocals, and by Mike Yanoski on dulcimer, percussion, harmonium, and accordion.

This eclectic trio will perform unique arrangements of classical and folk music. In broader terms, that means the audience will be treated to an opening set of classical music performed with a special Bards influence. The second set moves to folk music, specifically Celtic tunes in celebration of the Irish holiday celebrated on March 17. The music will have you toe tapping and you’ll be welcome to stand and do your version of an Irish jig should the spirit move you.

The Bards performers are educators as well as musicians. They welcome interaction with the audience and love to share their passion for their music and their instruments.

Tickets for the event are available in advance at VirgAnn’s Flowers and Gifts, 240 Pennsylvania Avenue West, and will be available for purchase at the church beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening. Admission is free to students 18 and under accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
