‘Thin’KIN’ Spring Gala March 23 for Kids In Need

The Kids In Need (KIN) Community Fund helps students who are homeless or otherwise need support.

An event sponsored by ERIEBANK and the Rouse Estate will help the KIN Fund help children in Warren County School District.

The ‘Thin’KIN’ Spring’ Gala will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the Woman’s Club of Warren.

Tickets are $40 per person or $75 per couple.

There will be hors d’oeuvres and drinks, music by the Porcelain Bus Drivers, and fund-raisers.

Proceeds benefit the KIN Fund.

“The KIN Community Fund is designed to provide temporary supports and resources with the long-term goal of identifying and beginning to address barriers causing hardships for families in our community,” according to KIN Fund literature. The goal is “to ensure vulnerable kids and families have access to daily living needs and the resources necessary to promote the well-being of children.”

In the 2015-2016 school year, the fund supported 30 students in grades kindergarten through eighth, and 20 in high school. Last year, the numbers more than doubled to 64 and 42.

KIN Fund partners include Warren County School District, DeFrees Family Memorial Fund, Community Foundation of Warren County, Conarro Family Fund, Crowley Charitable Fund, McComas Charitable Fund, Salvation Army, and Sokolski Family Fund. Organizations that donated to or are facilitating the event include the school district, the Suites at Rouse, and Nutrition, Inc.
