House of Hope to hold dinner and dessert auction

The House of Hope is hosting a dinner and dessert auction.

The area nonprofit, which offers transitional housing to women being released from the Warren County Jail, will be hosting the benefit event on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Woman’s Club of Warren, located at 310 Market Street.

According to board members, “House of Hope has all the usual expenses involved with maintaining a home such as utilities and household repairs. Current needs include storm window replacement and exterior painting repairs. In addition to the financial support, we can always use paper products, toiletries, office supplies, sidewalk melt, and gift cards for area businesses. We’re also always looking for volunteers who are willing to share their time and friendship with our resident women.”

Anyone interested in volunteering time at House of Hope can contact Erica, the program director at House of Hope, for an application by calling (814) 706-3234 or (814) 335-9179.

The nonprofit’s first gala celebration of 2018 will be the Hearts to Hearts dinner and dessert auction.

“We will begin the evening with a silent auction and hor d’oeuvres, then dinner will be served followed by the exciting and fun-filled dessert auction to finish out the night,” said Jennifer Cullers.

Tickets for the dessert and dinner auction are $35 and each table seats ten guests. House of Hope is seeking “table leaders,” to host a table or even part of a table. “Another means of participation is a donation of a dessert or silent auction items to be auctioned at the event,” said Cullers. “By participating, you are giving people the opportunity to help make a significant impact on a woman’s life, her family’s life, her childrens’ lives, our community, and our society.”

For more information on the event, visit the House of Hope Facebook page. To donate items or volunteer, contact Erica Hogodon, Program Director, by emailing hohwarrencounty.gmail.com, and to donate financial gifts, make checks payable to House of Hope of Warren County.
