Each member brought a Christmas gift for Mom to be donated to The Salvation Army. The Zonta Club supports the Salvation Army throughout the year with monetary donations and the Bundle Up Program prior to the winter season. EOC holiday closure

The Warren-Forest Counties Economic Opportunities Council will be closed Monday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Dec. 26 for the holiday. We will re-open at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Outdoor Club

On Thursday, Jan. 4, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will hold its first planning meeting of the new year at the home of Debra and John Young at 1588 Townline Road, Russell. The club will be scheduling events for January, February and March. This will be be an eating meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the planning meeting to follow. Participants should bring a dish to pass. If you would like to hold an event but cannot attend the meeting, email your event to john.young@eaglezip.net. All AOC events are free and open to the public. Membership is $5 per year per person, which includes being on the AOC email list.

Class lunch

The men of Warren High School class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, at Perkins.

Senior closings

Experience, Inc., the Area Agency on Aging, and all senior centers in Warren and Forest counties, are closed due to the holidays on December 25, 26, and January 1.

Halls Of Ivy

2017 Youngsville High School graduate Corry McCoy, son of Robert and Rika McCoy, was named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2017 semester at Pennsylvania College of Technology, with a 4.0 grade point average in Electrical Engineering.
