Warren-Forest Hi-Ed receives donation from Erie Insurance

Mindy Littlefield of Calvert-Pearson Insurance Group recently presented a $5,000 check to Donna Smith of the Warren Forest Higher Education Council. The funds, comprising a donation from Erie Insurance Group, will be used to support the Council’s Adult Diploma Program.

Since 2008, Warren Forest Higher Education Council has offered an adult diploma program, graduating 85 students. The Adult Diploma Program gives residents the opportunity to earn an original high school diploma from his/her local school district in Warren or Corry.

“The Diploma Program was developed with input from local business and industry on skills they look for in job applicants,” noted Joan Stitzinger, Executive Director of the Higher Education Council. “The program provides additional training beyond a GED to help students be successful on the job or continuing onto post-secondary training.”

According to Littlefield, “Erie Insurance is pleased to provide support to the Council and the Diploma Program. We view this as good citizenship and we are happy to support organizations such as the Hi-Ed Council provide education and training to the residents in our area.”
