Monday Night Movies

Monday Night Movies at the Warren Public Library will continue on November 6th. This event is free of charge and begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Slater Room on the third floor of the library. Complimentary popcorn will be available. This week’s PG-13 rated 87 minute film stars Demetri Martin, Kevin Kline, Gillian Jacobs, Rory Scovel, and Ginger Gonzaga. A Brooklyn cartoonist heads to L.A. to make a fresh start after the death of his mother. Although a job opportunity at an ad agency ends badly, he decides to stick around when he meets a young woman at a party. Call the library at 723-4650 for the exact title of this and other movies in this series as the library’s movie license does not permit listing the titles of movies outside the library.

Community dinner

A Community Dinner will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Youngsville Free Methodist Church, 179 Davis Street, Youngsville, at the JoyFull Cafe. The menu will be open-faced roast beef sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy and veggies, A donation is accepted but not expected.

Results of Monday night duplicate bridge held at the YMCA were:

1st-Glenn Fegely and Matt Oram with 30;

2nd-Susan Swab and Marjorie Polito with 29;

3rd-Donna Holding and Carol Stone with 28.

Creating for a Cause

On Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m., the non-profit organization Caring For Life will host the third annual “Creating for a Cause.” This specialty wine and painting event will feature local artist Kelly Hunt. Ms. Hunt will lead those in attendance in creating their own wintry decorative plate masterpiece! This event will be held at Hertel & Brown in Warren and is limited to 40 people. Wine and appetizers are included in the cost of the ticket ($40). Tickets can be purchased by contacting the office at 726-4986 or caring4life@verizon.net.
