‘Inside View’ of NY State Supreme Court Appellate Division

The Robert H. Jackson Center, a non-profit dedicated to promoting liberty under law through the examination of the life and work of Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson and its relevance to current events and issues, will present “An Inside View: Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division, Fourth Judicial Department.” This legal education program is one in an ongoing series of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars presented in partnership with Phillips Lytle LLP. The Wednesday, Sept. 27 program at the Jackson Center in Jamestown, N.Y., is free to the public, advance registration is required, and donations are appreciated.

The program begins at 1 p.m. with a panel discussion on “Best Practices-Supreme Court of the State of New York” by Hon. Gerald J. Whalen, Hon. Erin M. Peradotto, and Hon. John M. Curran, moderated by Jackson Center co-founder, board member, and Phillips Lytle LLP partner Gregory L. Peterson, Esq. Christoper D. Lindquist, Esq., Appellate Division, Fourth Department, will then address “Attorney Disciplinary Rules/Process.” Following Lindquist, Justices Whalen, Peradotto and Curran will be interviewed by Gregory L. Peterson, Esq. on their respective professional journeys to the bench and experiences in private practice. The seminar concludes with “Survival Skills for Lawyers,” presented by Daniel T. Lukasik, Esq. Lukasik is a member of the Bar Association of Erie County’s Committee to Assist Lawyers with Depression in Erie County. A reception will follow, sponsored by the Jamestown Bar Association, Northern Chautauqua County Bar Association, and Cattaraugus County Bar Association.

NYS CLE Accreditation: Phillips Lytle LLP has been certified by the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board as an Accredited Provider of continuing legal education in the State of New York. This program (traditional classroom format) has been approved for CLE credit for both experienced and newly admitted attorneys for a total of 4.0 credit hours (1.0 ethics; 3.0 professional practice). PA CLE Accreditation: Approval by The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania CLE Board is pending.
