Photo submitted to Times Observer The WGH Auxiliary Board will be selling Boston Coffee Cakes again this year for the holiday season. The coffee cakes will be sold on December 2 at two locations. From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the cakes will be sold in the WGH Outpatient Lobby. Cash, check and payroll deduction will be accepted as payment at this location. From noon until end of the Christmas Walk downtown, the cakes will be sold in the lobby of the Northwest Bank. Cash and checks will be accepted payment at this location. There will be five kinds of coffee cakes sold for $15 each. There will be four 1.5-pound cakes offered that are Cinnamon Walnut, Raspberry Cinnamon, Lemon Burst and Caramel Apple. There is a two-pound Blueberry Loaf cake that consists of two loaves per box. Christmas buffet

The Warren Area High School Class of 1969 will be having a Christmas Buffet on Thursday, December 15 at 1 p.m. at the Warren Eagles Club. Make checks available to FOE #313 and send to Peg Johnson at 1 Victor Avenue in Warren. For any questions, call (814) 726-1407.

Parkinson Support Group

The Warren Parkinson Disease Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6,  at CTI Physical Therapy, 2265 Market St, Warren.

Community meal

Every Wednesday the Youngsville Free Methodist Church serves a Community Meal at 5 p.m. Please join us on Wednesday, November 30, for Kielbasa, Hot Dogs, Macaroni & Cheese, Vegetables and Dessert.

Evening prayer

Holden Evening Prayer will be held on Wednesday, November 30, at 6:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church; located at 109 W. 3rd Ave, Warren.  This wonderful service is a long-time community favorite and will be held each Wednesday during the season of Advent. All are welcome.

Spaghetti dinner

The Allegheny  Community Center is holding a spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, December 4. The meal is homemade spaghetti and meatball dinner featuring an authentic old-world recipe, Italian bread, side salad, beverage and dessert. Take-outs are available. The price is $8. Children under 12: $4. Children 2 and under are admitted free.

YEMS retired staff luncheon

Youngsville Elementary Middle School will be hosting a luncheon for any retired teachers or school staff that have served at YEMS on December 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone interested is asked to RSVP to Liz Kent at 563-7207 or via email at kentel@wcsdpa.org.

Photo submitted to Times Observer The 16th annual Warren General Hospital Basket Contest will take place December 5-9 in the WGH Outpatient Lobby. One of the biggest fundraisers for the hospital auxiliary, this contest challenges the various hospital departments and companies affiliated with the hospital to create fantastic, imaginative baskets filled with generous contributions from area businesses andfrom the department members themselves. The average Christmas baskets contains between $100 and $1,500. Tickets are $1 each and will be sold only in the WGH Outpatient Lobby from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Thursday and 7 a.m. to noon on Friday, December 9.  Drawing will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 9, in the Outpatient Lobby. Buy your tickets (bring address labels to save time writing your name and address on multiple tickets), and vote for the best basket and the basket you would like to take home.  Take a chance on this out-of-this-world Christmas present and support a good cause. The 2016 Basket Contest proceeds will assist the Auxiliary in funding its many programs and projects. The Salvation Army will be collecting the items from November 22 through Dec. 16. People can drop off at ERIEBANK.
