The United Fund of Warren’s Torchlight Campaign has kicked off and is in high gear.

That’s what United Fund of Warren County Executive Director Jim Goodling said on Monday. This year’s goal is $670,000, Goodling said, which is up $5,000 from last year. But the United Fund has been showing through the years that Warren County is always up for the challenge of a slightly higher goal, said Goodling at the kickoff event late last month.

The fund supports over 20 local human services agencies, including Family Services of Warren County, The Warren County YMCA, New Hope Assistance Dogs, and others.

Ellwood Group, Inc. on Monday donated $10,000 to the United Fund of Warren County.

“As always, all of the money given in the campaign goes directly to those agencies; the Fund has other revenue sources which cover the costs of administration and the campaign itself,” said Goodling. That means that of $1 given to the campaign, every penny help member agencies.

What’s more, Goodling said those agencies provide services right here in Warren, so donations to the United Fund of Warren County are donations to help the county.

The familiar torchlight campaign sign is set to go up in front of the post office on Tuesday, and efforts to reach the $670,000 goal will continue throughout the winter.
