WGH’s Hallas featured in Becker’s Hospital Review
Recently, Warren General Hospital’s Director of Hospital Information Services and HIPAA Security Officer, Danielle Hallas, was featured in Becker’s Hospital Review article “100 Community Hospital CIOs to Know in 2017.” Hospitals rely on health information technology leaders to develop technology strategy, oversee EMR implementations and support telecommunications, cybersecurity, health information exchange, and much more.
Ms. Hallas joined Warren General Hospital in 2010 as Clinical Informatics Manager and HIPAA Security Officer. She took on the role of Director of Hospital Information Services in 2016. Under her leadership, her team of nine has successfully implemented and supported a full electronic medical record, implemented stringent security measures to safeguard patient data, implemented a Patient Portal for community members to securely access their own medical information, as well as support many medical offices and remote users.
The Information Services team has completed multiple large-scale projects that benefit patient safety, information exchange, and meet and exceed many government program regulations. Due to the ongoing efforts of this team, Warren General Hospital has received national recognition by HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) as a Stage 6 EMR Adoption Model Hospital, making them one of the 31 percent of hospitals nationwide to achieve this.
Within the next year, Danielle’s team will be working to achieve a Stage 7 award along with the top 5 percent of EMR Adoption hospitals in the nation.
