United opens Country Fair location in Youngsville

Let them drink coffee.

The new Country Fair location in Youngsville didn’t intend to open on one of the company’s Free Coffee Fridays, but it didn’t hurt turnout, either.

“We’re off to a nice start,” said Country Fair Regional Manager Kevin Beichner, even without all of the company’s programs rolled out at the Route 6 location.

United Refining bought the former BP and Shell station at a sheriff’s sale in January.

“We wanted to get off to a quick start,” Beichner said. In the roughly three months since purchasing the property there have been new gas pumps installed to offer ethanol free fuel and there is also a diesel bay. The interior has also been rearranged to fall more in line with other Country Fair locations. But, Beichner said, this is only phase one.

“We’re going to be renovating,” he said, adding that the renovations will involve bringing in updates such as a deli and potentially reworking the parking lot. At the moment, the location does carry grab and go options like pizza and breakfast foods.

And while the location doesn’t include a deli yet, it does offer other programs such as using gift cards to receive five cents off gas or a free app to check in for rewards on gas and food.

The location hired 18 new employees and is managed by Ella Schroeder, who has been with the company for five years.

“We’re excited to be here,” Beichner said. “It’s a great addition to the area.”

Beichner added that once renovations are completed, there will be an official grand opening for the location.
